Ms. Jackie,
The speech that you gave to our class the other day was flawless. You made me actually think about the things I do and why. There are far more things that are more important to me than having sex, but I never thought past my spontaneous sexual arousal.
If I would have taken health before my senior year, I may have never started having sex; but I didn’t and I did. But, what you taught me is to respect women even when they want me to disrespect them, to value their sexuality and NOT take advantage of them.
If you knew who I am, it may be hard to imagine me writing what I am writing. It may be a surprise to a number of people, but your words touched me and that’s enough said.

When Silence is NOT Golden
When you mentioned the parents not giving their child the ‘talk’, I kind of related. My mother had me when she was roughly 13. She has not given me that talk yet. Knowing that, I do sometimes think it’s okay to have sex.- High School Student
The Bigger Picture
Yesterday after finishing a presentation to a health class of high school juniors and seniors, five young men stayed after class to speak with me. The last young man who had patiently waited for me to finish speaking with the others simply wanted to say “Thank You!” I told him how much it meant to me that he had waited so long to let me know how much he appreciated and benefitted from my presentation.
I also told him I was sure he was already making good decisions even before hearing me speak. He dropped his head and said nothing. I said, “But you will START making good decisions after today because when you know better, you do better, right?” He smiled and said, “Yes!”
